Our 4.3-liter 262 Vortec Long Block Crate Engine is on sale. In the mid-90s, the 4.3 Vortec hit the market, and soon after, the motor’s popularity grew until it could be found in vans, trucks, and SUVs like the Chevy Astro, Blazer, Express, S10, Silverado, GMC Jimmy, Safari, Savana, Sierra, Sonoma, Isuzu Hombre, and Oldsmobile Bravada, just to name a few. Far superior to a rebuilt 4.3 Vortec engine, our XP1 precision 262-long blocks are completely remanufactured at our state-of-the-art facility. Our process certifies that we will meet all of the original manufacturer’s specifications and requirements. Additionally, we add upgraded parts specifically designed to increase the engine’s longevity.

OEM REPLACEMENT

Our precision remanufactured 4.3 Vortec block

Every 4.3 Vortec block must pass our magnaflux inspection designed to detect any microscopic flaws or cracking. Blocks are then thermally cleaned, followed by steel microblasting until they achieve a brilliant appearance. Once a block is fully cleaned, we begin our precision boring and honing process. Using a carbon two-stage power hone, we can maximize the sealed area and ensure that it precisely meets the recommended RMA readings. Computerized micrometers are used to resize rods in strict accordance with factory recommendations. Crankshafts are precision cut and micro-polished to achieve a 12 RMA reading or better.

Custom 4.3 Vortec long block assembly

We meticulously mill each cylinder head until perfect alignment and sealing of the head gasket is achieved. Our cylinder heads are assembled using a new valve stem and seals that feature high-temperature technologies, increasing heat resistance and longevity. These polished cylinder heads are pressure tested using magnetic detection to eliminate the chance of cracks or flaws unseen by the human eye. Before each head is mated to their block using the correct torque valve, we vacuum test all seals for proper seating. Triple-angled cutters are used to machine the valve seats, ensuring proper pressure and flow. All valves, valve springs, and valve guides must pass our stringent process of meeting and exceeding OEM specifications. O.H.C. heads are aligned for proper bore consistency. Every remanufactured long block has been specifically engineered to help improve the inherent flaws and failure points that can be found in many of today's engines.

Why a Core Deposit Is Required

This product is sold with a refundable core deposit. The deposit is required to ensure the return of a rebuildable core, which allows us to recycle materials and reuse non-wear components during the remanufacturing process. This helps keep overall product costs competitive.

How the Core Deposit Is Charged

The core deposit is added to your order total at the time of purchase. Once your returned core is received and inspected at our facility, the deposit is refunded according to the payment method used for the original purchase.

Core Return Timeframe

To receive a full core deposit refund, the core must be received within 30 days of delivery. Cores returned after this period may be subject to reduced refunds or additional fees. Any return extensions must be approved by a sales manager in advance.

Core Refund Processing Time

Core deposit refunds are typically processed within 1–3 weeks after the core is received and inspected. Credit card refunds are issued to the original card. Check payments are refunded by mail. If you have not received your refund within three weeks, please contact us to confirm receipt.

How to Return Your Core

In most cases, your order will include a shipping document known as a Bill of Lading. You or your repair facility may return the core with the delivery driver, if applicable, or schedule a pickup directly with the shipping carrier using the phone number listed on the Bill of Lading. It is important to use the provided shipping documentation to avoid being billed directly by the carrier. If your order did not include return shipping information, please use the core return link below and follow the instructions provided.

Missing or Non-Returnable Cores

If a core is not available for return, the core deposit is retained and becomes part of the final purchase price. In these cases, only one-way shipping is required. If inventory for a specific core becomes limited, additional core charges may apply. In rare situations, products may not be available for sale without a core exchange.

Sending a Core Before Shipment

For manual transmissions, engines, and transfer cases, customers may send their core in advance. This option may extend overall turnaround time but eliminates the need to pay a core deposit. Only the product price and shipping charges will apply.

Acceptable Core Condition

To qualify for a full core deposit refund, returned cores must not have excessive damage, such as melted or cracked cases. If you are unsure whether your core meets return requirements, please contact our team before shipping.
