Description
4L60E Transmission and Torque Converter
Our 4L60E transmissions feature extensive updates and upgrades designed to enhance performance and reliability. We install a complete system correction and recalibration kit that addresses multiple QE design flaws, including improvements to servos, the pressure regulator (PR) system, and valve body accumulators. Oversized PR valves are used to restore hydraulic integrity, while the TCC control valve, TCC regulator valve, and actuator feed valve are upgraded to combat common wear issues. Additionally, 1-2 accumulator pistons are replaced with durable aluminum versions, eliminating the premature clutch failures caused by the original plastic pistons. Our precision stator qualification and machining process further optimizes torque converter performance.
Key internal components are also enhanced for durability and strength. The sun shells are upgraded to the latest, more robust design to prevent common 4L60E failures. High-energy 2-4 bands and 3-4 clutch packs (increased from 4 to 7 clutches) are installed to significantly boost durability and torque capacity. We completely remanufacture the pump with new line bore bushings, eliminating leaks while improving flow and longevity. The remanufactured torque converter undergoes rigorous testing for leaks, lock-up, concentricity, and balance. These upgrades surpass OE specifications, eliminating front seal leaks, premature bushing wear, and vibration issues. All critical bushings are replaced with performance-spec parts to optimize internal fluid flow and pressure. Each transmission is thoroughly cold- and hot-tested using our proprietary Synth-Teck automatic transmission fluid and filtration system, complemented by our Advanced Dyno And Performance Testing (ADAPT) program, ensuring superior quality and road-ready performance.
